STEM Video Book Library

This Video Book Library provides short narrated videos of primary grade (K-5) focused STEM books.  The goal of this program is provide teachers with age appropriate STEM related reading material. Teachers can elect to play the video book, and start and stop them as they wish to openly discuss the content. Teacher's may also consider muting the audio to create even more active participation in the story telling. 

"Aurora and the Lost Chip" By Rebecca Miller

 This story, written by Rebecca Miller, introduces the concept of coding and algorithms to children.  In this story, Aurora, the artificial intelligence system for Spacegate Station, meets a lost Robotic dog named chip. In order to help him find his way back to his charging station, Aurora uses the example of coding and algorithms to provide Chip with the information he needs to find his way home.  (running time 4 minutes)  

"A Moon of My Own " By Jennifer Rustgi

 This story by Jennifer Rustgi and Illustrated by Ashley White is about an adventurous young girl that journeys around the world accompanied by her faithful companion—the Moon. Always changing, yet always with her, the Moon remains her magical friend and loyal guide as she discovers both natural beauty and man-made wonders. (running time 2 minutes) 

"If I Built a House" By Chris Van Dunsen

In this story by Chris Van Dunsen, Jack dreams up a whimsical fantasy where he  builds the house of his  dreams, complete with a racetrack, flying room, and gigantic slide.  Jack's limitless creativity and infectious enthusiasm will inspire  budding young inventors to imagine their own fantastical design. (running time 4 minutes)
