Season 1 Episode 5 - The Power of Programing

In this Math and STEM-based episode, the crew will help students learn about computers and the fundamental process of how a program is designed. Students will be introduced to the concept of algorithms which consists of instructional sequences, decision making, and command repetition.  (running time 22 minutes) 

Aurora and the Lost Chip Video Book

 This story, written and read by Rebecca Miller, introduces the concept  of coding and algorithms to children. In this story, Aurora, the  artificial intelligence system for Spacegate Station, meets a lost  Robotic dog named chip. In order to help him find his way back to his  charging station, Aurora explains how coding and algorithms work so he  can use those directions to find his way home.  (running time 4 minutes)

Season 2 Episode 8 - Building the Future

 In this Engineering/STEM - based episode, the crew will help students learn about basic engineering design practices and people that are used to create structures such as houses. This lesson includes the reading of the children's book "If I Built a House" by Chris Van Dunsen.  At the end of this lesson, using different materials provided by the instructor, the students will create their own dream home. (running time 18 minutes)   

Season 2 Episode 8 - Building the Future (Design Practice version)

 In this Engineering/STEM-based episode, the crew will help students learn about basic engineering design practices and people that are used to create structures such as houses. (running time 6 minutes)   

If I Built A House Video Book

 Written by Chris Van Dunsen, this video introduces Jack as he dreams up a  whimsical fantasy where he  builds the house of his  dreams, complete  with a racetrack, flying room, and gigantic slide.  Jack's limitless  creativity and infectious enthusiasm will inspire  budding young  inventors to imagine their own fantastical design .  (running time 4 minutes)   

Season 3 Episode 15 - Matching the Method

 In this Nature of Science episode the crew of Spacegate Station help  students learn about the importance and the differences between the  scientific method, used by scientists to perform experiments, and the  engineering design process which used by engineers to solve problems and  make new things. During this lesson, students also learn about what  engineering is and the different types of engineers.    (running time 17 minutes)

Season 2 Episode 5 - Postcards to Space

 In this episode of Spacegate Station, students will learn about a FREE special program sponsored by the Blue Origin Club for the Future called Postcards to Space. Students create a postcard that is loaded into the crew capsule of Blue Origins New Shepard rocket which is launched into space. When the postcards are recovered, they are stamped "Flown to Space," and mailed back to the students to keep as their own space-flown keepsake. (running time 10 minutes)
